Sticking Controls in Photoshop 24.5

I have a problem that has continued into 24.5, but is not present in 24.0

Version 24.5. OS Windows 10

3. Steps: Use zoom, transform, move or any other tool.

4. Expected Result: On release, the moved item or zoom state should remain where it was.

Actual result: perhaps 5% of the time, the cursor 'sticks', and has to be manually clicked again to make it stay.

Question: Would it help diagnosis if I installed versions 'upwards' from 24 until the problem appears, to nail down when the programming changed?

This has been reported by a lot of people with 24.5, myself included.

A preference reset seems to fix it in all cases.

(Save out actions etc that you want to keep)
