Hi,
Photoshop just crashed when trying to save a file (that had previously been saved many times). It bites, because I wanted to save after an especially tedious bit of work.
Now AutoRecovery is enabled and upon reopening PS, two other documents that were open did get recovered - but no the file I was trying to save. I looked for temp files and the like that might fit the bill, including one that seems to have been created inside the folder of the work file, but it was 0KB and trying to rename it to *.psd and opening it didn't work, unsurprisingly.
I fear I'm out of luck, but wanted to make sure there aren't any other arcane recovery methods.
There is a sizeable PStemp file on one of the work volumes that I'd love to pick apart, but I suppose that's some sort of encrypted data structure?
Besides being especially annoying in this case because of having to go through the tedium again, this is worrying because it's been happening so much more with the last two releases (I wonder if there's funky AI features trying to do things in the background that I'm never even going to use, that cause more instability).
My GPU is reasonably new (Radeon RX 6700 XT 12GB), RAM and disk space is plenty and the AMD PRO driver (ie. more conservative and stable, hopefully), PS version and Windows 10 are always up-to-date.
