Hi all! please help me how to place a reference image in Photoshop in order to draw from the reference?

In Photoshop, it's a manual process. 

  • Place the image
  • Drop the opacity (optional)
  • Lock the layer (5th lock icon in the Layers panel)
  • Create new layers and draw on them using the drawing tools

 

If you are used to Illustrator in which you can covert any layer to a non-printing Template layer, Photoshop does not have that. You have to hide the layer when you want to print.
