22.4 freeze and crash

Version 22.4  froze and crashed twice in 20 minutes at my first attempt to use it.

Once simply after opening another file, and once when simply panning. 
Lost work and decided to roll back to the previous version. 
Have not had this bad a crash/freeze before.

Try resetting preferences as explained in the other post you were posting in, can't hurt, often fixes the issue.
