Photoshop 23.0.2 freezes and crashes after stroking a simple work path. I was using a square brush at 8 or 6 pixels with black ink. Nothing fancy. I have a PC with 32 gig of RAM and NVIDIA Quadro T1000 and updated Windows 10. I opened the same file in an earlier PS version and had no issues performing the same path strokes multiple times. Thoughts?
Go to Preferences > Technology Previews... and check "Disable Native Canvas" - then restart Photoshop. Does the problem still occur?

Happened 3 times before I gave up and opened PS22, and the work paths stroked just fine, same file, same process. I believe I submitted the crash report after the 3rd time.

Strange. I'm not finding a crash report in the our system, yet. (Sometimes it takes a bit of time to get processed) Just to confirm you entered the email you used to log in here in the Crash Reported dialog? (instructions here: https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/kb/submit-crash-reports.html)

I tried to repro on my system (8-bit RGB) new doc, 1 layer. Anything special about your document (color mode, bit depth, type of layer selected, etc)

Jeffrey, Thank you for your prompt reply and attempt to repro the issue! I was able repro it today, but PS did not crash this time. On further observation, using the scroll zoom appears to initiate the issue, causing multiple windows appear simultaneously. Here is a screenshot: 2021-12-06_10-51-40 (screencast.com) The only way to clear it is to close out of PS and reboot it. Cheers, Mark.

Jeffrey, Again, PS 21 does not do this, processes the work path and scroll zooming without issue.

Hi Jeffrey
I also had this problem on 23.1.0. It was fixed when I deactivated Native Canvas as you suggested but was driving me crazy before that, and might be affecting other people.

Jeffrey, Thanks for backing up my observation. I did get my versions mixed up when posting, but the point is moot now. glad there is a fix, even if it is a work-around kind of fix.

Amazing how PS and Illustrator just become unusable. Even basics like paths. That solution didnt work. So glad I dont pay for a subsciption and work does.
