Adding .lcp to folders in Windows or Mac does not work

I have a lens profile from the manufacturer for my Sony E Mount lens. For months I have copied their latest to: %ALLUSERSPROFILE%\Adobe\CameraRaw\LensProfiles\1.0\<Manufacturer folder>

Everything is neatly organized by Manufacturer in this folder. Also to Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Lightroom Classic\Resources (but I really don't use Lightroom room much) regardless when opening a file in Camera Raw with LCP files copies into the base manufacturer directory or adding one for Sony nothing ever updates in Camera Raw. Cannot manually go out and look for a .lcp within the application either (Using Beta Photoshop 27.xxx with latest Camera Raw that comes with it).

I'm at wits end on this one. Documention on adobe.com seems to be for Photoshop 2-3 years ago not Beta or current.

The easiest way is to open Lightroom Classic and go to File>Import Develop Profiles and Presets

The above should install the lens profiles lcp for both Lightroom Classic and Camera Raw.

Also before that you should remove the profiles you copied to the paths you gave it your post.

I don't think this method did everything -- at least it still does not show up in Camera Raw under the Manufacturer of the lens in Camera Raw
