As a dedicated Adobe user, I'm compelled to share my significant disappointment with Generative Fill in Adobe Photoshop. In 2025, with the rapid advancements in AI, I find its performance to be severely lagging behind.
When we look at impressive generative AI tools like Flux, Midjourney, ChatGPT, and Imagen 4, it's clear that the industry is moving forward at an incredible pace. Yet, when I turn to Adobe Firefly and the Generative Fill feature within Photoshop, the stark contrast is undeniable.
The quality of generations is consistently subpar, and the AI frequently fails to accurately interpret user intent. This leads to frustrating and often unusable results, despite the significant monthly subscription fees we pay. We invest in Adobe expecting cutting-edge tools that empower our creativity, not features that feel underdeveloped and behind the curve.
We pay a premium for the Adobe ecosystem, and it's time for Generative Fill to meet the high standards we expect. We urge Adobe to prioritize significant improvements to this technology, bringing its performance in line with the remarkable AI capabilities available elsewhere.

@alyvdev You are not alone in feeling this way. Your call for Adobe to prioritize significant improvements to Generative Fill's core technology, bringing it in line with broader industry AI capabilities, is a direct and valid request. As AI continues to evolve at an exponential pace, maintaining a competitive edge and delivering on user expectations for "cutting-edge" tools will be crucial for Adobe's continued leadership in the creative software market.
