Adobe removed 3D painting. Is there an alternative?

I used to use the Live 3D painting in Photoshop to paint directly onto 3D models. Adobe have removed this, which is really annoying as it was part of my workflow. Is there a viable alternative? The new 3D features seem to be for embedding OBJs into a PSD, which is not what I need.

The alternatives from Adobe are to use Photoshop 22.2 which will give you what you had before or, better, to use Adobe Substance Painter, which was created for applying materials to 3D objects and contains all the channels to do so in a modern 3D workflow.
