Alt+click problem - zoom to content and collapse/expand groups at the same time - PS 21.0.1 Win 10

Reporting an issue in PS 21.0.1 on Win 10

There are two commands with the same default shortcut of alt + left click:

  • Zoom to layer content
  • Collapse/expand all group and all child groups

It is possible for a user to do both at the same time, which IMO should not happen as one action does not really have anything to do with the other.  I happened across this when trying to collapse a stack of groups on a UI design I'm working on.

I have tested the issue and can replicate it consistently.  I can get the groups to collapse and expand without zooming to layer contents, but only by really trying hard to hit a sweet spot, right on the hairline of the icon.

This is an operation I need to perform A LOT when diving into groups on designs and then tidying things back up.  It is fast becoming a nuisance.

I like both features, and I know I can go and create a new shortcut if I like but this is default behaviour, way too easily triggered out of the box.

they have to fix this bug. it´s totally annoying.

They should remove the frame layer zoom hitbox from the "open group" arrow area and place it only to the right sidezoom.jpg

I wonder if they have people who test the updates they make, before they release it.

Completely agreed.  I had the same thought - seems like a simple and obvious solution that we would have hoped would have been considered out the outset.

Unfortunately not fixed, on Mac at least!

I use Photoshop 21.1.1, and when I alt + click on a layer effects arrow (on the right side) to collapse/expand all layer effects, Photoshop also zooms in on the layer.

I'm not yet seeing 21.1 available for update in my Creative Cloud App. I will wait until it becomes available and report back.
