AppleScript save a copy does not actually save a copy

Starting with Photoshop 2021 and also 2022, the AppleScript command to save the document as a copy does not always save a copy.

save in [...] with copying

For some documents it does but for others not (and we couldn't figure out what's causing it) and the current document gets replaced by the newly saved document.

Any idea what is going on?

Somehow the behavior changed in Photoshop 2021. It seems like "with copying" could be omitted before and it would do a copy, but starting with Photoshop 2021 it would not do a copy anymore and instead it replaced the document. So we had to add "with copying" everywhere and we missed one spot. We thought something was wrong with Photoshop but now that we fixed them all it seems to behave as expected.

Perhaps because of changes you read the solution for in Save as formats have disappeared Photoshop 22.4

I have seen these changes but I don't see how it is related since here I explicitly ask to save a copy.

Okay. Let's give the chance to others before we consider it as a bug.

If so, can you elaborate what was wrong?
