Auto align layers gets stuck in Photoshop 21.2.1.

I use auto align layers function a lot when making GIFs. Since the new release of Photoshop, it gets stuck and freezes somewhere around say 15%, always on the same spot no matter how many, and what kind of jpgs I try to align. I repeat, it worked before so it is not an issue with my mac.

It's a good old general response but it often works. Have you tried resetting the preferences. Look for the Reset Preferences On Quit button within the General tab of the Photoshop Preferences.

Thank you for your reply! Unfortunately it did not help in this case. However, I have downgraded to couple of older versions all the way to Photoshop CC, and all versions replicated the same problem. Auto align gets stuck, Photoshop uses 100% of GPU, but the bar does not move no matter how long I let it run..

Well once I got myself m1 mac pro the issue was resolved. Seems this task takes a lot of computing.

Feels like auto align in photoshop is crap.
