As my Photoshop just crashed, I tried to recover the file from my "Autorecover" folder. But suddenly in CC 2024 it isn't there any more. In my older Photoshop versions the folder was created properly. Any ideas where the folder can be found now? It's not in "..\\Users\$USER\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop 2024".

Generally, there's no point in looking for this folder. If a recovered file does not open automatically on next PS launch, the folder is empty.

Did you save the file to disk at least once? If not, the autorecovery process won't initiate. And also, the recovery file won't be written until the prescribed time you set in preferences.

That said, it should be there if your primary scratch is on the system drive. If your primary scratch is on a different drive, it will be at the root of that drive.

The recovery file is basically a RAM dump. In a normal shutdown, the recovery folder is deleted as part of the shutdown process. Only when the application crashes will it remain, then there isn't time to perform the normal shutdown sequence.
