Background Help

New Here ,

Hello, I need to add a background color to the attached photo that blends in with the rest of the image and does not cover up the text. Can someone help me with this? I have tried simply adding a background color, but it covers up the text or I can't figure out how to not make it cover up the text.

What's the color you want?

I'd probably add a solid color layer and use "Blend If".  Use the Underlying Layer slider to target only the white background. Note that the slider can be split for a softer onset, and it can be used per channel. Here the blue channel might give the best result.

Can you tell me how to do this? I would like to use a light pink or red color to fill in the white background so that it can be used on our website.
