Hello,

I am looking for some reference information about the backward compatibility of latest PS versions.

We have an old plug-in which is built on top of PS 7 SDK. Would the newer versions of PS e.g. CS2, CS3, CS4 run those plug-ins ?

Thanks in advance,

Paul

There are a few areas where there are problems, so it's necessary to test,
but older plugins are basically compatible with CS2-CS4. The 64 bit version
of CS4 is not compatible.

On 32 bit Windows there should be no issue, as Mike points out.

On Mac, the SDK version is relatively unimportant, but the executable format is critical for compatibility.

* PS 3,4,5,6,7,CS require PowerPC PEF;
* CS2 is PPC Mach-O;
* CS3 and CS4 are Universal (PPC+Intel) Mach-O.
