What is the difference in these and why would I choose optimized when saving a jpg?

Baseline is a line where your text is generated by photoshop and optimized is used when you apply any distortion or it looks good you can use it to make it balance is simple words...regards

All web browsers support Baseline Standard, even most older out of date browsers.

Baseline Optimized optimizes the color quality of the image and produces a slightly smaller file size using more compression. All modern web browsers support it.

Viewed on the web, the difference may be inperceptable to most people.

Thank you. That helps a lot. I've wondered about this for years and most teachers have skimmed over it and said it wasn't important.
