I tried to batch process some CR3 files but ACR woldn't open the first image to let me adjust it before it batch processed the CR3 files. I wanted to make some adjustments to the photo before the conversion to .jpg. I just tried the same thing with some CR2 files and it worked fine. I think ACR has some issues with CR3 files. A few days ago Photoshop crashed while trying to use the sharpen filter on a CR3 file. Anyone havning issues with CR3 files and batch conversion in Photoshop?

For what it's worth, this is so much more efficiently done in Lightroom. Volume processing is what Lightroom was born to do.
Will ACR open the file at all? Is it perhaps from a new camera not supported in your ACR version? In raw processing, each camera model is a unique file format. A CR3 from one camera is not the same as a CR3 from another.
If you're using smart sharpen, it uses the GPU and crashing indicates a buggy video driver.

Most likely you need to add .CR3 to the list of extensions at Line 115 in the Image Processor script located in Adobe Photoshop (version)>Presets>Scripts.
Any text editor will do.

If you are simply batch converting from raw to a rendered file, you don't even need Photoshop's batch tools as this is possible directly in ACR.
