Blurry artifacts after Auto-Blend Layers

Hi, I am having issues with creating stacked images in Ps. Regardless of how few or how many images I load into Ps I get these blurry patches in the final images. This is regardles of lens (macro or otherwise) or camera system or manually focusing or using autofocus. All images are taken in a controlled ligting environment and all images are shot on a tripod. Any help here would be appreciated.

I have had the same result loading the images directly into Ps or exporting out as layers from LrC.
