Hey, I'm having an issue with some of my brushes in which they won't mark in the starting place until I drag it far enough away from the starting location or let go. This works with both my mouse and my tablet.
Disabling Dual brush works on this one, but there are other brushes with the same issue.
Not all brushes have this issue. I'm confused as to why it's happening. It wasn't something that was happening before. At least I hadn't noticed if it had been.

What are the Transfer-settings?
Does turning it off make a difference?

The important one to me is the one that is labeled as 5 stars.

»6 noice« seems to be the only one of the Brushes that behaves roughly as you describe.
It seems setting Size, Opacity and Flow to Pen Pressure adds up.
You could try setting a higher Minimum.

Does it affect all the brushes in the abr-file?

It does not, it seems to affect only a few, but it also affects a lot of other brushes for me too, and I'm not sure what you mean by setting a higher minimum.

Please provide an abr of one brush that definitely poses the problem for you without any other brushes.

The minimums are set in the Brush Settings Panel.
If that is unclear please post screenshots.

Okay, this is the most important brush for me, I've noticed that I can turn off Dual Brushes and that makes it work, and only sometimes can I turn of smoothing and that makes it work.
And by work I mean not doing that weird thing where I can't make a mark unless I release pressure or move far enough away from the starting location.

Also, I am apparently super rude.
Thank you so much for taking the time to look into this for me. I've done a lot of googling and playing around on my own and I'm just confused.

Don’t sweat it.

With this particular brush, are you seeing the issue I described?
Specifically that the brush doesn't make a stroke unless dragged from the starting location or unless released?
It makes it challenging for small details.

The screenshots show the Brush applied to a Path with »Simulate Pressure«, so you can judge which Transfer settings cause the most immediately discernible »onset«.
