Bug: Text tool causes program error when operated in certain steps

New Here ,
Mar 27, 2024 Mar 27, 2024

Version: 25.6.0

OS: Windows 10 64bit

When using the text tool, certain steps will result in a program error.

  1. Create some text layers
  2. Select multiple text layers in the Layers palette
  3. Switch to the Text tool, change the font size in the tool options bar, and press Enter twice.
(The case Enter key has been pressed extra with the intention, to change the text size of multiple text layers at once. Focus will move to the font selection select box)
  4. Switching to the Move tool and pressing the arrow keys on the keyboard results in a program error.

The error message modal displayed is as follows:

----

Data cannot be moved. Program error.

(In Japanese, "データを移動できません。プログラムエラーです。")

----

The file can be saved, and after restarting Photoshop, it can be operated without problems. There is nothing wrong with the saved file.

Operations such as pressing the Enter key one more time incorrectly are commonplace. This is a reproducible failure and should be corrected.

Hey, @Masaki Komori. Welcome to the Photoshop Community. Thanks for sharing the details & the description.

I couldn't reproduce this in my attempt to recreate this. Would you mind including a video with the steps?

As a test, try changing the language to English for Photoshop. This will help us pinpoint if this is a locale-specific behavior.

Thanks!

Sameer K
