Hello,
I am trying to open and edit a raw file on my Mac laptop. My laptop is running on Mac OS X 10.11.6 and I have downloaded Camera Raw 9.1.1., which is what they suggested for PS CS6. My camera and file type is supported by the program but it still won't work, and even after all of the updates I still get an error message telling me to update Camera Raw. Is there any way to fix this?
Thanks.
The D5 requires Camera raw 9.5, which is not available for CS6 - 9.1.1 is the latest and final version.
You can either subscribe to Photoshop CC, which will open the files (the Photography plan with Photoshop and Lightroom is $10 a month), or you can use the free Adobe DNG converter to convert the raw files to DNG files that can be opened in 9.1.1/CS6.

If you go to Photoshop > About Plugins > Camera Raw, what version number does it say?
And what make and model is your camera?

The Nikon D5 needs camera raw 9.5 which is not compatible with CS6
Cameras supported by Camera Raw
You will need to download the DNG convertor and convert the files to DNG prior to opening in ACR9.1.1
Adobe Digital Negative Converter 9.x
