Can I use Ai to correct an overexposed photo in Photoshop?

I have some photos I took on a poloroid camera of people that are overexposed. I scanned it in to Photoshop hoping to find a solution. The natural skin tone is brown but the picture came out with the skin tone paper white. Every other detail is present though. Can I fix this using Ai? Is there a better solution?
