can not close files

Has anyone had an issue where you are trying to close an image file without saving it and the dialog box to select to close without saving is hidden? I have been having this issue and it has caused me some issues by oversaving an image or I have to force quit photoshop in order to close the files without saving them. 

When you try to close an image the box is nowhere to be found and then when I hit ESC, it shows up for a milisecond center screen and goes away with no option to change the selection. If you accidentally hit the return button instead of ESC, it saves the image. Only other way to bypass this is to save as_ and then delete the image. 

Anyone know how to fix this? Started happening with the last two versions of PS. Currently on V 23.4.1

It may help if we could see your Photoshop System Info. Launch Photoshop, and select Help >System Info...and copy/paste the text in a reply.
