I've been working on a very large document for a few months now. It has 1300+ layers at this point, which I realize now is way too much and that I should break it up (working on a collage book, many pages with many image fragments).
I've been saving it to the cloud and had no issues when it was smaller, but now I have no way of downloading or opening the file. Every method I've tried ends up crashing the system and delivering some different error message. I've tried every possible method of opening the file, File>open, open recent, opening from the photoshop home page, downloading from the web preview, downloading from the creative cloud app, nothing works. I was working on it last night and can view an updated preview on photoshop beta web version, so I know that it saved correctly and is not a corrupted file.
My computer and photoshop are both fully updated, I updated them as recently as the day before posting this.
Anyone have any advice? I'd hate to lose the file, it represents about 3 months of constant work.

This is so late, but I am having the same issue, as I create collage too! I created a massive file with many layers and I can not download it off the cloud to move it off there as it takes up so much space. I was not able to open it on my old computer so I got access a computer with more ram and was able to open it. I think the best thing is to open the file (when you can) and split it up into different documents or parts and save them separate and work separately on them. Annoying but that's the only way or merge the layers as you go if your confident you won't need them un merged again.
