I downloaded the DMG file, and launched it.

Once the window opens, it displays a box stating:

"The installer was unable to access a file or directory. (Error code: 702)"

I have tried running first aid on my disk, restarting, booting in safe mode, and making sure all applications are closed.

It still is not working! Can anyone help?

Thanks

Hi follow the message...regards

As it turns out, if you are using some kind of security profile on a business machine, it seems to mess up the file permissions in the /tmp/ directory.  I'm sure there are other ways the permissions can get messed up, but we simply used the following command after logging into TERMINAL. sudo chmod 1777 /tmp/ Let me know if it works.

Wow, that error message is really old. Adobe should not be telling Mac users to repair file permissions. Apple removed the file permissions repair feature from Disk Utility several years ago, so it isn’t even possible to do now. Since Apple restructured how system files are organized and maintained, permissions repair is no longer useful or necessary.

Good thing Lambiloon had a real answer. 🙂
