When I try to import a video, .mov and 8 sec long, I just get a message saying "Could not fulfill your request because the video file could not be opened." That doesn't give me a clue what's wrong. Any tips?
Thanks in advance,
We are sorry about the experience while trying to import the MOV file to Photoshop.
Would you mind sharing the version of Photoshop you are working with along with the operating system of the computer? Also, what is the source of this MOV file? Have you been able to import files from the same source into Photoshop earlier?
Photoshop CC 20.0.8
MacOS Mojave 10.14.6
Source: Fujifilm X-H1
This is the first time I am trying to import a file from the X-H1.
Double check to make sure that there isn't some strange codec on that video?
This particular video has H264 codec, which should work, and now I've tried a number of other videos from other sources and none of them can be imported. It seems like Photoshop is the problem, not the video.
I'm having the same issue importing a 4 second video. I converted my video to a h.264 codec and I still can't import my video. Ever since I switched to Catalina I've been having issues with the Adobe programs! I don't know what else to do since this feature has previously worked. Adobe do something!
Same problem with 2019 and 2020(which I just updated to tray and solve). Happened seemingly overnight or with upgrade to Catalina. on Mac. This is a huge issue. That many people are experiencing and there is not yet a solve. We need a fix ASAP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Please. P.S. My job depends on this!!!!!
That was my MacBook Pro 13 inch. On my Macbook Pro 15. I can import. When I go to make a gif I get this error. Ive done this process literally hundreds of time over the last 5 years. Theres a greater problem here. It is not human error
Hello, are you sure both problems are linked?
Which operating system on the 13" and the 15"? Which version of Quicktime X?
But I'm still using MacOS Mojave 10.14.6. Haven't updated to catalina yet so that doesn't make sence to me. Today I just bought a new iMac and I'm curious to see what happends when trying to do the same thing on it, and I don'ät whether it comes with Catline already instlled or not. It's still in the box. Will get back tomorrow and report.
I tried this on my new iMac with MacOS Catalina 10.15.3, and it still doesn't work.
I need a solution utgently as I have a customer waiting for a production depending on this.
This more than discouraging. Am I suppose to believe Adobe doesnt care about this serious issue. I've been a diehard since Photoshop 7. Now is this whole community forum a pony show or do things actually get solved here. Businesses rely on this. This isnt the only ticket about this. Spanning several versions on PS and MacOS. Used to work like a gem. What is going on here!?
Hi, And which OS on the 15"?
Hmm.. I just tried and it worked on my laptop here are my specs:
(I do have a High Sierra machine 10.13.6, but I don't think I have a mojave machine)
I used both an H264 and PRORES 422 file to check this out.
Exported to looping GIF
Have you tried updating to the new version of Photoshop (just for your exports?) maybe?
Hello, did you solve this? the same exact issue happened to me when i upgraded my system last year and still didn't get fixed. And I couldn't open video in all adobe products idk if there missing something in my laptop or is that an adobe problem
Is there any solution to this?
I'm facing the same issue and its giving me a lot of problems
See above - worked under these specs, and exported to looping GIF.
What are your specs for MacOS and Photoshop?
I always get this message. no matter what type of Codec I use. This has never ever been a problem before.
any update from adobe?
it's almost 2021. 😉
See above... working with Catalina, Ps2020 - I had no issues with video files.
What are your computer/app specs?
Do you just need a sequence of frames from your movie? (Adobe Media Encoder much better)
You don't need to make a sequence in order to use the movie in photoshop necessarily.
Hello I experienced the same problem until I read this and it worked it was just blocked by mac os security, hope it will helps !
