Can't open 5gb psb file because of program error

Hello all,

I'm hoping somebody can help me with this. I'm on a MacBook Pro, Apple M1 Max and I have a psb file that's 4.74GB and PS won't open it due to "a program error." I'm hoping to just get it opened then I can divide it into 2 or 3 more managable sized documents.

Please let me know if anybody has an answer to this!

Thank you so much in advance,

Hung

It was on an external hard drive, but I just pulled it onto my internal hard drive and I'm still getting the same error. Here's my system info: Apple M1 Max, 64GB memory, MacOS Sonoma version 14.4.1.

Thanks!

No, please post the actual system info. Not a summary.

Thanks so much for replying, but I just recreated the document. I needed it asap. Thanks though!

Actually I recreated it now and I have the same error. I'm assuming one of the layers I have is corrupt for some reason. Although theres no way to tell because I can't open it. Do you think this is still salvagable @Lumigraphics
