Cannot Launch Photoshop CC2018

Explorer ,
May 29, 2025 May 29, 2025

I cannot launch Adobe Photoshop CC2018 and receive this pop up message:

"Adobe Application Manager, required to start your trial, is missing or damaged.

Please download a new copy of Adobe Application Manager from

http://www.adobe.com/go/applicationmanager."

I'm using a MacBook Pro M1 Max running 15.2. I typically use Photoshop 2025 and Bridge 2025 without issue and see that the Adobe CreativeCcloud (6.60.661) launches and can see many Adobe apps listed there but dont see Adobe Photoshop CC2018 even though it is installed.

"Adobe Application Manager, required to start your trial, is missing or damaged.

Please download a new copy of Adobe Application Manager from

http://www.adobe.com/go/applicationmanager."

I want to open this version of PS because I have On 1 Smart Filter layers  (tied to a particular version on On 1 Effects) that are not editable on later versions of PS or On 1 Effects.

Any way to get Adobe Photoshop CC2018 to open on my system?

Below is a screenshot of my Adobe Creative Cloud:

50G, I'm no authority, but as a casual observer, I see a few problems:

  • 2018 is no longer supported, can't be downloaded.
  • Your link to Application Manager as it turns out, is the Creative Cloud app of which you have a screenshot. So why is the Manager reported as missing?
"required to start your trial" makes no sense, as you've been running 2018 for 7 years, right?

Did you perform a drive clone, move to a new computer?

Someone with knowledge of how licensing works will need to explain this. Jet tire marks on my scalp.

I did move to a new computer in 2023. Not sure if I have any (retained) B/U prior to the move but unlikely.

Hey @Five0Guy,

Thank you @LAMY2017 for your help, and you're correct, Photoshop CC2018 is no longer available for download through Creative Cloud. Adobe only provides access to the two most recent major versions of its apps (more info here).
