Cannot place (or open) any JPG in Photoshop.

Hi Adobe Community. How are you?

I need help today.

For the record: I'm on my old Power Mac 2010 on OS Sierra, I am working with Photoshop 2019.

Since yesterday I cannot open or place any JPG file in Photoshop. I can work fine with any .eps, .psd, .png... But not a single .jpg won't open. Each time, I receive this message when I try: "Could not place “ image.jpg” because the file was not found." But still, the same JPG I tried to open in Photoshop can open with no trouble in all my other apps (Preview, Illustrator, InDesign etc...).

What I did Already:

1- Uninstalled all my Photoshop apps with linked preferences (2018, 2019)

2- Restart my computer twice.

3- Re-Installed from your Cloud Only 2019 version

4- Cleaned my computer cache with a well-respected cleaner

5- First Aid my Hard Drive with Disk Utility...

And I still have the exact same problem after all that. Have you any idea what to try?

J'ai exactement le même soucis ! Les images ne s'ouvrent pas non plus avec l'ancienne version de photoshop (CC 2018).  Merci pour votre aide également

I am having the same issue.  The only thing I see is that Carera Raw updated yesterday, and since that update PhotoShop will not open any .jpg files for me.

I just noticed I can't use the Camera Raw plugin: "Could not complete the Camera Raw command because the file was not found. Could be an issue.

 Please refer to this link and run the Camera Raw installer that is compatible to your system after checking the minimum requirement.

I just did what minik26052751 told me.

It took me 2 minutes and Photoshop is back again!
