CC 17 crashes upon opening

New Here ,
Dec 02, 2016 Dec 02, 2016

Every time i open Photoshop CC 2017 it immediately tells me that windows has encountered a problem and the program has to be closed.

Any idea what may be causing this? It's incredibly frustrating.

Thank you

Fault Module Name: LavasoftTcpService64.dll

Anything helpful in there?

Lavasoft is known to cause issues with Photoshop. Look for Adaware and uninstall it, after which you should be fine

There sould be crash repors. Look at the details in these reports see which module is failing. If may not be in Adobe code.

How do I do that? I mean I'm tech savvy but when it comes do diagnostics and that kind of think I'm.not 100% sure where to look. It always says windows is checking a solution for the problem and then it all just closes and it doesn't give any reason.

Thanks.

If you use Windows use Windows reliability History Viewer to find the Photoshop Stopped working events and double click on the to view the details. Mac OSX would have some way also.

Mine will crash if I open it using ctrl alt and shift which opens it in a certain way that allows it to access the old preferences I think. My preferences aren't saving so when I open it like this it has the dark grey coloring to the layout which is what I originally had 2 versions ago since then it keeps defaulting back to light grey. Anyway it will open and then a second later stop working and close. Here's my error report from the reliability history viewer

Has anyone had the problem with their Photoshop just not wanting to open anything, even a new page? My CC17 looks like CS2 and I don't know why. All my other Adobe programs are running fine.

If it looks like this I would say your running CS2 nod CC 2017.

Hi

You have Lavasoft software installed which is known to cause issues with Photoshop.

Look for Adaware and uninstall it. You should then be OK

Thanks. I'm running malwarebytes anti malware now because it won't let me delete it directly from the location I found it in.
