Change the background colour of transparent/ object with cut-outs

Hello, I would like to change the background color of the image below. But because the hat in the image has mini cutouts and edges, it still shows the old background. Any recommendations please?

Hi,

first of all this hat has not bee cut out properly. the backgroud should removede under the edges, and that is not the case.

That is how I would get out this trouble :

Place a color layer underneath the hat.

 

Use Select a subject on the hat layer then select and mask. Enhance the edges with the second tool…

 

Use this work as a mask…

Not perfect but better…
