Clipping mask for coloring in not working

Hello! I'm trying to color in Photoshop using a clipping mask but I've run into an issue, when I try to color in the layer, it only colors the outline, not the inside. Please help! Attached is an example of my issue. I'm trying to color the inside of the circle, but only the outline of the circle gets colored, which is not what I want.

Your screenshot clearly shows that the Layer is empty on the »inside« so the result is as expected.
