Clipping mask help

 I want the clipping mask to include all the spots on the snowman not just the whole inside

You have two choices:

  • Make a perfect selection first, the create the clipping mask (Ctrl+I will invert it if needed)
  • Edit the mask afterwards. One way is to paint on the mask (not image) with pure black and white.

Ugh I am not sure if I know how to do that. Do I use the magic wand selection? Do I select all of the snowman? I wish I had a YouTube video to watch lol photoshop has changed so much since I used it in HS. Ty for replying

I just looked at your tiny image and see the checkerboard indicating transparency — meaning that this is an EPS or AI file. When you open it in a raster application such as Photoshop, the image is flattened and the squares become part of the image.

 

What you need to do first is to open the image in Illustrator or another vector application. Then hide or delete the background object containing the squares.

 

This may be all you have to do. You can work on it in Illustrator (preferred) or save it without the squares and open it in Photoshop.

Ohhhhhh that makes perfect sense now. Ugh unfortunately I do not have illustrator. I will just keep picking blank clip arts for now I guess lol.
