so I will not go into the details here for fear of this post getting taken down (nothing illegal don't worry, in fact my whole post is about how to resolve my problem legally), but suffice to say, I would love to know if there's any way to still get Photoshop version cs6 without pirating it, which is something I don't do (not to mention don't know how to to). And now to pre-answer a few questions:
Yes, I know that cs6 is an old version of Photoshop, that's kind of the point.
No, I'm not open to discussing alternatives, or to being talked out of using version cs6, my question revolves strictly around its obtainability, NOT whether or not I should use it.
Yes, it does need to be that exact version, anything before it is too old and doesn't have the features I need, and anything after it won't work for reasons I won't go into because I don't want to get this post taken down (see next pre-answer)
Again, the reasons I have that I won't talk about for wanting that version are NOT illegal, or even against ToS, to my knowledge, it's just that adobe might not enjoy me talking about it here explicitly, so, in an effort to please them (this is their platform after all), I won't bring my reasoning / motivations up
If the answer is "no that's not possible without pirating an installer (which, to be clear, I will not be doing) than so be it, but if there is a way, that would be great
Oh, and it would have to be the windows version of cs6, if that's relevant at all.

Short answer: no.
Only pirated copies of CS6 are being sold today. Most include malware.
I've moved your post to the Photoshop forum.

you would have to purchase from a private party that still had cs6 and obtained a license transfer (http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/policy-pricing/transfer-product-license.html) from adobe. ie, ebay would be one place to check.
however, you have to be certain that transfer is included or you're risking license revocation. what's worse is that revocation could occur weeks, months or years after your purchase.

With a bit of luck, there are still legal versions available somewhere on the used market. In this case it is also absolutely necessary to apply for and carry out a license transfer with Acobe.

I would be especially cautious on eBay. There are a lot of scammers lurking there trying to sell stolen software as legitimate versions.
