Color Correcting Large Numbers of JPG Images

Noticed an odd problem with Photoshop recently. I teach art and also show my art in art galleries. Starting three years ago I decided to collect interesting JPG images of art, mostly paintings, and illustrations. I threw these images into a folder labeled, "Art". From these images, I draw inspiration for my art but plan to use these as examples of interesting art for my students. I also put together slideshows of these art pieces set to music via Apple's slideshow option. Fast forward to a couple of weeks ago. I now have nearly 10,000 images in this folder. At some point, I decided to color-correct many of these as many are horribly scanned images. I use Photoshop to do this. It's quick, simple, and very effective. However, when the number of images in this folder reached around 9,500 images, Photoshop does something odd. After color correcting a JPG image, and after the color correcting has been saved, the image deletes itself. It is no longer on my hard drive. Is this a problem with my computer or Photoshop? Is there a limit to how many JPG images one can put into a folder -- this problem only occurs once I color correct a JPG -- JPG files are not randomly eliminating themselves. (PS I don't plan to collect more than 10,000 images)

Hi @Eric28542493e9ko It may help if we could see your Photoshop System Info. Launch Photoshop, and select Help >System Info...and copy/paste the text in a reply.

Do you have any backup software, ie TimeMachine, that allows you to recover the images, do you have an idea how many have been deleted in this process?

Hi @Eric28542493e9ko how are you bulk color correcting the files? Batch scripting I'm assuming - what are the steps in the script?

I do use TimeMachine, and have used it recently for an unrelated issue, but I also now keep a backup folder of the images.

Last night, I color-corrected 15 images, and when I checked, these images were missing. I replaced them with my backup images.

Where do I go to see the Photoshop System Info? I can see a menu of topics.

I suspect, the solution to this is to keep the number of JPG files in a folder to around 5,000.

Memory available to Photoshop: 5294 MB

Ps alone needs a minimum of 8gbs of RAM. Please review the system requirements for Ps:
