Color mode mask influes values

Ok so there is this very good-looking drawing by me. 

I chose a random red color for the circle, and the mask is in COLOR mode.
I put a black & white filter above to see the values and why tf are they not the same

I have this issue for several months, masks in color mode affect values
And if thats a feature how do I disable it

@ArwenV17 are you asking why the red overlay is different from the rest of your image? Because you have changed the overall value of the image by overlaying the red circle using a Color blend mode... It should appear different when adding a BW filter over it.
