Hello,

How can I  copy the contents of a layer mask to another .PSD and resize the copied contents?  (A face that has been photographed on a greenscreen).  Photoshop cs6/windows.

Thank you.

Drag the layer from one file and drop into another, then mask will come with. You can then CTRL T  to resize the layer and mask. If you don't want them mask, drag to the trash.

Hi, while this works on current versions, but I am not sure that Ps CS6 had all the drag and drop abilities, it might have only been possible from layers panel to other image, or from the image itself, IIRC.

To be safe, I'd use the Duplicate layer route.

In order to get the duplicate layer contextual, you need to right-click on the layer name in the layers panel, or you can target the layer in the layers panel, and go to the menu Layer>Duplicate Layer.

In some cases, it might be needed to refine the mask, current versions add a similar color around the mask if the target document is bigger, but I have a souvenir that it was sometimes needed to add black or white around the mask, in older versions.

You can also duplicate a layer and its mask to another document by right-clicking on the layer and choosing Duplicate Layer. Then, select the name of the destination document from the drop-down list in the Duplicate Layer dialog box.
