I use PS for editing old photos.
After the latest corrupted update, I deleted photoshop and installed the penultimate version as advised, using 'save' to keep my personal settings as I understood, but alas, all my settings and keyboard shortcuts seem to be gone. Okay, water under the bridge.
For cropping photos, I had a simple, 3-second method: select, Ctrl-C, Ctrl-N, Ctrl-V, ready and perfect. That doesn't work anymore; now I have to give in the resolution and the measurements of each individual image. Which is a bit irritating when you have to handle 100 or more images per project.
I'm an old dog not in for too many new tricks. How can I get my old method back?
Have you tried
Photoshop > Preferences > General > Use Legacy "New Document" Interface

Great! That does the trick.
