Crashing on alt-tab or switching windows with GPU support enabled

With GPU support enabled, your modern Photoshop program crashes entirely at random on alt-tab and/or when switching to different internal PS tabs.

 

I need GPU support, and the fact that you can't work with the biggest vendors in the world to ensure that my Photoshop session doesn't crash when I simply walk away for awhile and switch to a different image...

If turning OFF GPU works, it's a GPU bug and you need to contact the manufacturer or find out if there's an updated driver for it. This is why disabling GPU is an option as more and more functionality moves to the GPU in newer versions of many Adobe products.
