Crashing when cutting

I've been consistantly crashing when I create a pattern, rasterize it, and select half the image to cut it.  I can select it, but as soon as I press control to perform the cut and try to move it, it freezes. Permanantly. I have to do a ctrl alt delete to force it to close. This is the 3rd time in a row.  Any thoughts?

We're sorry about the freezing issue. We're here to help. Which version of the applications are you using? What are your system specifications? Did you try any troubleshooting steps? Do you see any error messages?

Go to Photoshop's Preferences > Performance and uncheck Use Graphics Processor and relaunch the app.
