so problem with crop tool just started. i am using a normal preset which works fine but i also see all these lines on the screen.. i've restarted .. any thoughts? thanks

Are you complaining about the grid inside the Crop bounds? Or the grid on the document bounds?

To turn off on the document, go to View > Show > Grid to uncheck Grid.

So you have all the options for the guides to be off and you still see it?

Try disabling GPU in the preferences (Preformance tab). Any better?

oops. forgot to clear cache too.. seems to be gone now.. is this preference neededf or anything else? why would this start out of nowhere?

This preference disables the GPU, so if it works only correctly without it, it means that there is an incompatibility between Photoshop's latest version's use of the GPU, the current GPU driver you use and its settings and your GPU.

This might slow down several operations in Photoshop as the GPU is used for certain tasks whenever it is faster than the CPU.

Maybe posting the content of Photoshop's help/system info will give us more information.

Here's another example which might help the developer. Note that the lines extend past the image itself: they appear when the frame is drawn.Instead of simply drawing the frame, an extra vertical and horizontal line appear too.

Hi, the GPU is active?

Please try to check "Deactivate Native Canvas" in the menu Edit/Preferences/Technology preview (Pc) or Photoshop/Preferences/Technology preview (Mac), then restart Photoshop.
This is not a fix, but rather a way to check if the issue appears only with the new technology, and should be reported to the Ps team.

One way to easily reproduce the problem is to rotate the image.
