CS4+ Associate Movies & TV program to Adobe Bridge

New Here ,
Nov 13, 2017 Nov 13, 2017

Hi

I am running Windows 10 on desktop and I am trying to associate the Movies & TV app to Adobe Bridge in Photoshop in order that it will play Quicktime .mov files.

I have gone to Preferences / File Associations but under Quicktime (.mov) it doesn't show the Movies &TV program as an option.

In order to link the program I need to find it in in the Windows files but have been unable to find it.

Please can you tell me where the files are located so that I can link them ?

Thanks

Gareth

For me on windows 10, if i set in windows explorer the default for MOV files as the Movies & TV app, then double clicking on a MOV file in bridge opens the Movies & TV app.

The problem is the actual Movies & TV app is in the Windows Apps folder (C:\Program Files\WindowsApps) which has restricted access, so that makes it difficult to set the Movies & TV app in the bridge file associations preferences.

Thank you Jeff very much for your suggestion. I did already try making Movies & TV app as the default player for the .mov files . However, it didn’t work and in Bridge it only gave me 2 options in ’Preferences’ - either QuickTime ( which I have uninstalled) or WPL (Windows Media Player)  which doesn’t work. I then tried installing a new media player VideoLan to see if that worked but Bridge was unable to see it. So I then tried to find the Movies & TV app in the Windows folder but couldn’t find it and therefore was unable to set up the association.

But thanks again for trying to help. Really appreciate it.

I'm sorry, I couldn't find any relevant information about CS4+ Associate Movies & TV program to Adobe Bridge to relate to your query. However, it seems like you're having trouble associating the Movies & TV app with Adobe Bridge on Windows 10.

You might try searching for the Movies & TV program in your Windows files by navigating to the Program Files or Program Files (x86) directory, depending on whether it's a 32-bit or 64-bit application.

Alternatively, you could try reinstalling the Movies & TV app to see if it appears as an option in Adobe Bridge's file associations preferences.

Perhaps the OP has an answer by now as the question was asked in 2017.!
