Greetings: I use Photoshop CS5 in a 10-year-old iMac. Later Photoshop versions do not work well due to the older OS High Sierra version 10.13.6 on the Mac, which is all it will take.
Lately the program has started to freeze up when I go into File - File Info to write to read caption informaiton for a photograph. The File Info window pops up but does not popuate the needed information, just a blank window. From there the program freezes and does not allow any more commands.
Therefore I have to re-boot the compter to get out.
Do I have to re-download the software and if so is it still available?
Thank you

This was a known issue back in the day.

The workaround was to use Adobe Bridge to read caption info or create a metadata template in Bridge to apply.

Reinstalling or resetting will not resolve. High Sierra was found to be the root cause.
