Hey there,
I usually put my PC in standby mode to pause between workdays.
Yesterday I had to restart the computer due to updates.
I saved all my files and closed PS.
Now I wanted to start my work again facing that all my custom brushes are gone.
How can I recover my lost brushes?

Bonus: how does PS handle this files to loose them after a reboot!?

Nothing to do with reboot or not. You likely simply have permissions issues on folders so the data cannot be stored, which could include the Windows hibernation cache and temp folders as well due to your continued use of suspend mode rather than actualyl shutting down the computer. Sometime _hit happens, you know. Either way, you need to investigate this and check your user folder including alll the relevant sub folders, check your Windows security settings and also power management in case this is an issue with your drives not waking up correctly from hibernation modes or the storage driver causing issues.
