I just purchased a Dell Precision 3640 Desktop. Here are the specs:

  • ower form factor
  • Intel i7 10th gen processor
  • 16gb ram
  • 512gb SSD
  • NVIDIO Quadro P2200 graphics processor with 5gb ram
  • Windows 10 Pro

Photoshop and Lightroom run quite slow and laggy. Im not the most techy when reading the specs. Is my proccessor up to the job? The tech guy at Dell offered no help

Hi,

We're sorry about the trouble with Photoshop. Would you mind sharing the versions of both Photoshop & Lightroom Classic that you're working on? Please ensure you have all available Windows updates installed in the computer along with the latest Quadro drivers from Nvidias website.

You can try optimizing the preferences of Photoshop using the steps suggested here: https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/kb/optimize-photoshop-cc-performance.html

If the issue persists, you can try to reset the preferences of Photoshop using the steps mentioned here: https://adobe.ly/2Qzc0K3

Please backup your settings prior to resetting the preferences. You can check: https://adobe.ly/2vNz6FG

Let us know how it goes!

Regards,

Nikunj
