I am using Lenovo legion 5 laptop with windows 10.
I have a canvas open. I bring in a photo. When I go to transform the size of the photo I am working with my canvas becomes transparent and I can see the original screen in the background that comes up when photoshop opens of my past files I've worked on. I can not work at all. I have uninstalled photoshop, reinstalled it. I have installed earlier versions of photoshop thinking it was abug in the newest update. Nothing has worked so far.

Go to Preferences > Technology Previews... and check "Disable Native Canvas" - then restart Photoshop. Does the problem still occur?

Yes! This seems to have fixed my issue. Thank you very much.

We believe that underlying issue of the Photoshop home screen appearing where the document canvas should be (temporarily worked around by selecting the ‘Deactivate native canvas button’ in Technology Preview) has been fixed, and you may now de-select that button for future Photoshop sessions. Please let us know if any of these issues return once the native canvas has been re-activated.
