Current: (The problem has shown up on multiple past Photoshop versions and computers.)
Photoshop 24.3.1

AMD Ryzen Threadripper 3960X 24-Core Processor 3.79 GHz

128 GB RAM

Windows 10   V21H2

This had been a problem in the last couple of versions of Photoshop. I previously thought it was due to an old system and video card. However, I have updated my computer and installed a new version of Photoshop and it still happens at the same rate (about 2-3 times a week). Without any consistent reason, the video stops updating. Note, if I keep working blind, the changes, that I can't see, are applied to the image. All other software continues to work correctly. Often, closing and opening the file fixes the problem. On occasion, I need to restart Photoshop.

Hi @BrentFox sorry to hear this. You say this has been happening for a while, how long have you seen this issue? Do you know what version of Ps this first showed up on?

Let's make sure we're in a default state and there are no stale settings somewhere:

Restore your preferences using this manual method:

https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/using/preferences.html#Manually

Does it work correctly?

If that doesn't solve it, you can quit Photoshop and put the Settings folder back.

It may help if we could see your Photoshop System Info. Launch Photoshop, and select Help >System Info...and copy/paste the text in a reply.

Thank you,
Cory
