Dual action on layer panel hotkey?

I recently upgraded to the latest version of Photoshop (version 21 I think) and I started experiencing a strange issue with the layer panel.

I ofen need to create a selection based on a layer, and sometimes I subtract one selection from another. I use keyboard shortcuts in the layer panel for that, by clicking on the layer thumbnail along with a modifier key.

CTRL + ALT + clicking on a layer thumbnail will subtract the layer area from the current selection.

However, that very same key/mouse combo also seems to perform "Fit layer(s) on screen". Intersecting the layer with the current selection (CTRL+ALT+SHIFT+left click) also does the same for me.

So  - seems like the same key combo is doing two things at once and I haven't found how to disable that so the view doesn't zoom when I do those layer subtractions.

Any idea? Is this a bug? Is it just on my system or does it happen for other people?

Check out »Zoom to a layer's contents« in the link below – unfortunately there is no mention of an option to disable the shortcut.

Hello, as Christoph said, it is a bug with this new funtion, here is the thread where you should vote (me too) and post a comment to state that it also breaks your workflow.

The temporary workaround is to right-click on the thumbnail to get the desired option (add/substract/intersect transparency mask , instead of the hard-learned shortcut. (kudos to that!)
