Enter hex codes

Hi - I have a specific color I need, and suddenly can't enter the hex codes anywhere.

I did - that's what I always do - but it didn't give me the option to enter the codes. Not sure what's going on.

You are using the 32 bit color picker. Change your document mode to 16 bits/channel or 8 bits/channel and you will be able to enter those codes.

Hex codes really won't have the result you expect with the ultra wide gamut of 32-bit colour...

That is correct - aside from the fact that you can't directly enter them in 32 bit, Hex codes need to be referenced to a colour space such as sRGB not to a linear gamma space as used in 32 bits/channel
