Extension Panels Won't Open - No Error (PS CC 2018)

Hi all,

Having an infuriating problem with my PS CC 2018 installation, I can't open any extension panels (both free and paid). They install perfectly fine and show under Window>Extensions, however clicking on them or trying to open the panel just results in it opening then immediately closing again without showing an error (video demonstration attached below).

I have tried everything I can think of, reinstalled extensions multiple times, have reinstalled PS multiple times, made a new user account etc, nothing makes a difference. The same extensions work 100% as expected on my main workstation (this is a tablet/laptop), the problem seems to be unique to this device.

Anyone else have experience with this issue or have any suggestions on coming to a resolution?

Cheers.

Hi isaakc,

Could you please check for the compatibility of extensions on the manufacturer's website to make sure that they are supported in the latest version of Photoshop?

Thanks,

Akash

Hi Akash,

The extensions are definitely compatible with the latest version of Photoshop, this is also demonstrated in that they work perfectly fine on my main workstation, which is also running the latest update of PS CC 2018.

I would recommend you to remove the extensions, restore Photoshop preferences to default and then reinstall the extensions one by one to see which works fine or not. Refer Preferences in Photoshop for instructions to safely restore Photoshop preferences.

Thanks,

Hello, Akash.

Thanks for this solution.  I have run into this several times in the last few months.  I just removed the preferences file and restarted and now my extension panels are loading again. The question I have "Is Adobe looking into what is causing this phenomenon to happen and resolving it?".  There must be some failure to load the panels showing up somewhere that can help the engineers to fix it.

Thanks,

~Bruce

extension could not be loaded because it was not properly signed in Any Adobe Photoshop version. It is very simple and in this video we are going to solve this in a very simple way. go to the start in Windows And type regedit & just click on Registry Editor . Registry Editor Box is open in Windows
