Updated to 25.5 and now rolled back due to this bug.
I've always used the extract from image to a shape to a library to share to adobe illustrator with no problems. In 25.5 this no longer works and creates an invalid file that illustrator cannot open.
Anyone else having this problem?

Hey, @Evolutionary. Welcome to the Photoshop Community. I'll help you figure this out.
This might've been a thing for Photoshop 25.5. Before troubleshooting, update Photoshop to the latest version (v25.5.1) via the Creative Cloud desktop app & check if the issue exists.
I've tested this & the issue does not exist. Please let me know how it goes.
Thanks!

Works here with Photoshop 2024 (ps ver 25.5.1) and Illustrator 2024 (illy ver 28.3)
on macOS Sonoma 14.4
Did you update your Photoshop to 25.5.1?

Yes, exactly the same versions and I'm getting the file added to the library but it's not valid. When looking at the info it's just 7 bytes in size (whatever image I try) and Illustrator says the SVG file is invalid and photoshop says the postscript data is empty or invalid if you try and drag the shape back in to a document. What version of macOS are you using?
If in Photoshop you go to Help>System Info, what does the top line Adobe Photoshop Version read?
Perhaps a reset of the Photoshop preferences will fix it:

Reset of the preferences doesn't work. Still does the same.

Maybe it would be worth a uninstall/reinstall of both Photoshop and Illustrator
using the Adobe Creative Cloud Application.
